Relief Printing 2: Multi-color Lino Printing

This class with Joie Siakovich-Inshaw is designed to pick up where you left off with your first foray into relief printing: participants should have some introduction to linoleum block carving and to the basics of proper inking and block printing on paper.

In the first session you'll examine the versatility and possibilities of relief printing with multiple blocks and colors, and learn how to create the effect you are hoping for as you design your piece with printing in mind. After considering the possibilities of complex texture and pattern,  you will carve your blocks. Finally, you will learn about how color and color combinations will impact your design, and practice consistent printing.

Along the way Joie will advise you about the techniques that will help you create the effects you are imagining. All materials and tools for this class are included in the registration fee, and participants will take home their basic toolkit, as well as their artwork.

Important stuff:

  • This class is appropriate for interested teens. All minors must have a parent or designated adult on the premises.
  • No open toe shoes (anywhere in the facility)
  • Dress comfortably in clothing that is easily laundered and dedicated to making messes.
  • Long hair and beards should be securely tied back. No lanyards or dangling jewelry.

We will provide all tools and materials for class projects

NOTE: This class DOES NOT qualify for the free one-month conditional membership.

CANCELLATION, CHANGE, AND REFUND POLICY

This is a high demand event with limited spaces available. A request of change/cancellation must be received by email to info@fresnoideaworks.org 72 Hours prior to the event date to be eligible for a refund. Please note, a $15.00 processing fee will be assessed per cancellation from the total refund.

Regretfully, we are unable to issue refunds and/or credit for a missed class. THE FIRST CLASS IS MANDATORY and you will forfeit your registration fees if missed. There are no makeup classes. Please plan accordingly.

In the case Ideaworks must cancel a class, full registration fees based on the original form payment was made will be refunded.
